There is certainly not just one reference communication congress in the country. Several students, market professionals and professors in the field participate in scientific events in search of knowledge and updates. With this in mind, we have brought together the five communication congresses that take place in different regions and are a reference for the Brazilian scientific research community . 1) Intercom Intercom The Brazilian Congress of Communication Sciences has been taking place since 1977. It traditionally brings together around 3,500 people, including undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers and professionals in the field. At the event, topics of journalism, public relations, advertising, radio, television, cinema, editorial and content production for digital media and public communication policies, among others, are discussed. The host city changes every year and is chosen by Intercom partners, in a vote held the previous year.
Every year, Intercom holds five regional communication congresses – Intercom Centro-Oeste, Intercom Sudeste, Intercom Norte, Intercom Sul and Intercom Nordeste –, which address the theme chosen for the national congress that will take place later in the same year. The fact that the topic is debated regionally and then nationally creates the opportunity for a rich dialogue from different perspectives. Junior Intercom Intercom Júnior is an academic space created to host academic work. These could be from undergraduate Communication students as well as recent graduates. The activity takes place at two times during the year: at the Brazilian Congress of Communication Sciences (Intercom) and at regional congresses. Academics can present research derived from scientific initiation projects, course completion works (TCC) , theoretical-practical discussions arising from extension actions and final articles from subjects studied at undergraduate level, among others.
Works must be registered at both regional and national congresses, following the thematic divisions and their menus, also established for research groups. 2) Mega Brazil Communication Congress Communication Congress: 7th MegaBrasil Internal Communication Seminar 2017 The Mega Brasil Communication Congress is in its 20th edition, as the most important and comprehensive event on Communication, Innovation and Independent Corporate Strategies in Brazil. The event hosts debates with national and international professionals about innovations in the area of communication, new concepts and practices. In addition, success stories are presented that serve as references and inspiration for professionals. The communications congress also creates an environment conducive to the development of networking and new business. 3) Pró-Pesq PP The Pró-Pesq PP event is nothing more than the national meeting of researchers in advertising and propaganda. The meeting has been taking place since 2010. It was originally hosted by professors of the Postgraduate Program in Communication Sciences at the School of Communications and Arts (PPGCOM/ECA), at the University of São Paulo.
